**[Tips & Tricks Table of Contents: tinyurl.com I was reluctant to try AllShare Play because I’ve been using a reliable DLNA client, and that met all my needs for streaming at home. Streaming away from home, after years of trying, I finally gave up on that dream. But lo and behold, a solution presented itself. It is nothing more than the all new rebranded AllShare Play app that is included with the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. It is so simple, perfect, and without compromise. . It may be one of my favorite features to date. No need to fiddle with your firewall, just install it, log in, and it works. A recommendation is that you disable “mobile optimization” in video quality settings if you want to play the video files without having to lose quality or recompress it. I forgot to mention it in this video, but you should be able to do this the other way around. Stream files off your Galaxy Note 2 to your PC. Another BIG surprise is that you can link your DropBox on here. And sure, DropBox app natively lets you stream videos, but it was at reduced quality, and limited to 15 minutes. Now you can stream the entire video, and at the original quality, and you can stream longer than 15 minutes. Some things to take note of. This feature will eat up LTE data like no one else’s business if you like watching 720 video, or more bit heavy compression like xvid or divx (avi files). You should have at least 3 MBits/sec up for 480p files, and 8-10MBits/sec upstream for 720p streaming. If you got

Hi ishta06. When transfering from AllShare play to dropbox, there is that limitation, but if you put that file directly into your dropbox from your PC, there is no filesize limitation, and it can be streamed from Allshare from your Dropbox.

It says that the file is larger than 150mb

  25. Lucidmike78 January 11, 2013 at 5:34 am - Reply

It will not use your data as long as the app is not running. If you close out of the app (by hitting the back button multiple times, or ending the application in task manager, then you should be fine.

im just curious, i have use this app when i saw this video, and i like to not use this app because my mobile data isn’t that big to streaming.
my question is, if i have all share play register before but i close the app, will it consume my mobile data automatically?

Hi Javier. You can search for the press release on dropbox and the link on the bottom says dropbox(dot)com(slash)gs. I believe you have to do most of these tasks to get the 50GB.

Hey the note 2 users when you first get the phone get offered dropbox with 50gb for 2 years free but when i first got the phone i didnt even know what drop box was is there anyway to get my 50 gb for free still if i skipped it when i first got the phone?

Yeah, if you want to access those files remotely, it has to be on a computer, whether it is a computer at home, file server at work, or a cloud server like dropbox, that is powered on.

  38. Danny Remisio January 11, 2013 at 11:25 am - Reply

ohh, sorry i was talking about the remote access by using splashtop…
for example, lets say i have a video on my comp that i forgot to transfer wirelessly onto my phone using allshareplay….and im over my cousins house, and i want to show him the vid….the only way to show him would be if i left my comp on before i left the house..(which makes no sense to leave a comp on wasting batery or electricity)…
it would be great if i was able to remote access my comp even though my comp was off
